Privacy Policy

Overview

Wetin Be Dis is a party guessing game created by David Adekanbi. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the app and the choices available to you.

Information the app processes

Classic party play and Solo Gist do not require an account. Weekly League may create a pseudonymous guest player, public handle, and expiring session so the server can enforce one attempt per competition. The app may process:

• Gameplay and app-usage events, such as games started, modes selected, categories played, rounds completed, purchase-flow events, and technical errors.
• Basic device and app information, such as app version, operating-system version, device type, language, country or region, and anonymous installation identifiers.
• Weekly League eligibility and rules status; attempt timestamps, selected option IDs, response times, server-calculated score and rank, integrity/review status, and any score challenge you submit.
• When prize entry is enabled, a one-way phone lookup hash and verification timestamp. Wetin Be Dis does not store your raw phone number in its competition database or publish it on the leaderboard.
• Advertising information processed by Google Mobile Ads, including ad interactions, approximate location inferred from network information, device identifiers when permitted, and consent choices.
• Purchase status supplied through Apple so the app can unlock Full Gist and restore purchases.

Weekly League and giveaways

The competition server grades answers and calculates the official ranking. The leaderboard may publicly display your chosen handle, score, and rank. Automated integrity signals can hold a result for human review but are not, by themselves, a final disqualification. Prize entry is subject to the official rules, including age, location, verification, review, and payout requirements.

Reaction recordings

If you enable reaction recording, the app requests access to the camera and microphone. Reaction clips are created for your game experience and stored locally on your device. They are not publicly posted or uploaded by Wetin Be Dis. You control whether to enable recording and whether to keep or delete clips.

House Party, SharePlay, and Play on a Call

When you use multiplayer features, gameplay information needed to coordinate the room—such as player names, roles, game state, scores, and room codes—may be shared between participating devices. Play on a Call lets iPhone and Android players coordinate a Wetin Be Dis room while using Discord, WhatsApp, FaceTime audio, or another service for their own call; we do not receive or store that call's audio, video, contacts, or messages. Its room service temporarily processes a pseudonymous guest identifier, chosen display name, room code, team, mode, and game-control state, then expires the room within four hours. This is not used to create a public profile, for ads, or for Weekly League or prize scoring.

Notifications

If you enable Today’s 5 reminders, the app schedules a local 7 PM West Africa Time reminder on your device. If you separately enable League updates, friend invitations, or Full Gist offers, the app may register an opaque device push token with our service so it can honor that exact channel choice when remote delivery launches. The token is encrypted before storage, is not displayed publicly, and is removed from the service when every remote channel is switched off. This is registration only until an approved delivery provider is launched; no remote notification is sent from those controls today. Permission for a gameplay reminder is not treated as consent to marketing messages.

How information is used

• Operate game, multiplayer, purchase, and advertising features.
• Understand which modes and categories are useful and improve game balance.
• Diagnose crashes, connection problems, and failed flows.
• Measure advertising performance and prevent fraud.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce platform requirements.

Advertising and consent

The free experience may show advertisements delivered by Google Mobile Ads. One voluntary rewarded ad can unlock one immediate 10-card Bonus Gist round. Capped interstitials appear only at natural result or final-game exit boundaries; they never interrupt questions, Today’s 5, or an active Weekly League attempt. Where required, the app asks for consent before requesting advertising. If an advertising configuration uses Apple’s advertising identifier, the app asks for tracking permission only when you request an ad or reach an eligible post-game ad boundary—not at launch or during a question. Declining does not block free gameplay; non-personalized or non-IDFA ads may still be shown where eligible.

Analytics

The app uses TelemetryDeck to collect privacy-conscious product analytics. These analytics help us understand aggregated usage and improve the game. We do not use analytics to create public profiles or sell your personal information.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Wetin Be Dis receives purchase status and transaction information needed to provide and restore Full Gist, but does not receive your full payment-card details.

Third-party services

Information handled by third-party services is also subject to their policies. The app uses Google, Apple, and TelemetryDeck.

Data retention and your choices

Locally stored party/Solo preferences, stats, and reaction clips remain until you remove them, delete them through the app where available, or uninstall the app. Guest competition session credentials expire after 90 days. When a new guest session is created, the service removes expired session credentials and deletes an anonymous guest profile only when it has no remaining session, competition attempt, or score challenge. Weekly League attempts, answers, timings, challenges, and leaderboard records are retained while a competition, review, payout, dispute, fraud investigation, or legal/accounting obligation remains open. Before any cash League launch, we will publish and operate a specific retention/deletion schedule for that competition. Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations. You can limit camera, microphone, tracking, and notification permissions in iPhone Settings.

Children

Wetin Be Dis is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum age required in their country without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate.

International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be revised when material updates are published.
